Nisha Katona is a British chef and Liverpool legend and the mastermind behind the restaurant brand: MOWGLI. You may recognise her from her TV presenting- a familiar face on Sunday Brunch, Saturday Kitchen and Saturday Morning. You may well already have one of her cookbooks in your stash of recipe bibles!
Nisha was a barrister for 20 years, breaking boundaries as the first female Asian Barrister in Liverpool. Now she is the driving force behind the Indian street food sensation MOWGLI. Opening her first and flagship restaurant in Liverpool in 2014, she has subsequently been awarded the MBE in 2019 for her services to the food industry.
MOWGLI (meaning feral child) is an eatery serving authentic Indian food, food that you’d find served in a real Indian home. It’s honest, tasty, plant based food, packed with flavour and zing. It’s built on Nisha’s passion for a sense of community through the sharing of food.
The interiors of MOWGLI are beautiful and humble all at the same time. There are no references to the traditional Curry House here! We are delighted to be a small part of Mowgli’s distinctive vibe.
Our installations create a focal point and both a subtle backdrop to a bustling restaurant experience. Sculpted californian manzanita trees and gentle fronds of moss sitting gently with thoughtful the MOWGLI brand colour palette. The restaurant numbers are now in double digits and growing and we’re very proud to be a part of the MOWGLI story.
