September 12 – 16 marks World Green Building Week (WGBW) 2022 and this year, the message is focused on #BuildingforEveryone to accelerate sustainable development goals and sustainable built environments for everyone, everywhere.

We had the pleasure of attending a local WGBW discussion at Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy, Cundall in Manchester who’s discussion concentrated on how existing building stock can be adapted to make it more sustainable as opposed to constructing new.

Cundall’s Discussion entitled, ‘Retrofitting Manchester for a Net Zero Carbon Future’ resonates with us hugely, especially since both our recent scientific research and past project experience is repeatedly demonstrating how effective our living wall system, HYVERT is in meeting a variety of sustainability criteria including: carbon absorption, reduced air pollution, rainwater re-utilisation and improved energy performance (and more).

Our Scientific Research & Development Lead, Joseph Rouse was there to represent I Want Plants and HYVERT.  It was a great opportunity for us to learn about more new approaches and meet like-minded professionals who all share the same passion for reaching these new and essential climate goals.
