At the beginning of 2022, the Manchester Science Park community welcomed their latest occupant – Bruntwood SciTech and their brand new building, BASE.
Providing flexible work-space, BASE is now home to a large number of tech businesses, including AI, computing and energy technology, low carbon, light manufacturing, animation and more.
Like many other Bruntwood Developments, BASE incorporates a number of sustainability measures and has been designed to enable the building to operate at net zero carbon across its Communal areas.
The Communal areas (Reception, Kitchen and Roof Terrace) were the focus for our project involvement which took two days in total to complete.
Using a variety of artificial plants in pots including trailing, these were added to feature shelving framework which was suspended from the ceiling.
Alongside clusters of mature live planting displays positioned throughout the ground floor expanse.
The communal kitchen area was dressed with artificial high level plants in a variety of pot designs.
And as part of the client’s design brief for BASE, brass coloured plant containers were specified.
We sourced these solely for this project and they look beautiful!
Completing the large investment into creating welcoming and attractive communal areas at BASE, is the wonderful new roof terrace which is now framed with troughs bursting with beautiful plants.
Although our professional photographer paid a visit to BASE on a typical Mancunian-weather day, the space still looks stunning.
Presenting a versatile, biophilic space for the building occupants – it’s already hosted yoga events!
