Red Engine are the creative force behind well known hospitality brands, Flight Club and Electric Shuffle.
Having already had the pleasure of working with them at their various sites, we were thrilled to be invited back to help with the creation of their ‘Summer Terraces’, in collaboration with a Hendrick’s Gin limited edition, ‘Flora Adora’ promotion.
In total our Custom Installations team helped to florally transform six Red Engine sites located in either Cardiff or London.
Our design brief from Red Engine was simply to use a specific floral colour palette which tied in with the Hendrick’s Gin promotion and everything else was left for the I Want Plants’ Design team to interpret and create, which was wonderful.
Working on designs for six differently sized ‘outside spaces’ meant each custom installation was uniquely tailored.
One of the larger terrace installations was for Electric Shuffle – Canary Wharf, which is set within a pedestrianised zone. This allowed us to create not only floral signage but also decorate a white picket fence to the terrace perimeter along with installing a custom made tree (see below).
Throughout the whole Red Engine project, there were almost twenty varieties of beautiful artificial flowers used. Notably Agapanthus, Delphiniums, Hydrangeas, Peonies, Roses and Tulips all in keeping with the colour palette previously mentioned.

For this location, block-coloured artificial flowers were installed around the edges, to give each hut individual definition and a variety of live shrubs in contrasting pots were positioned throughout.
For Flight Clubs Islington and Cheltenham, their Summer Terraces were located directly on to the high street, so matching troughs flanked the entrance and the borders. These were stocked with a profusion of pretty flowers ready to greet any new Flight Club guests.
Two sites completed their Summer Terrace transformation with beautiful custom made trees, each bespoke to the venue, firstly a mixed floral tree for Electric Shuffle Canary Wharf.
And finally, a stunning deep pink Bougainvillea custom made tree for Flight Club Victoria.
