This is The Botanist Ipswich which opened April 2o22.
We’re proud to be one of the specialist contractors who helped to transform it from being an architecturally-stunning but sadly, empty Old Post Office building into a sympathetically restored and revitalised city centre social destination in Ipswich.
We have worked with New World Trading’s ‘The Botanist’ brand across many sites and the botanical theme of each venue really springs to life once you enter inside.
Nonetheless, our project work began with the installation of mature live plants and shrubs into Client’s troughs, helping to biophilically define space for exclusive use of The Botanist guests.
And once inside, The Botanist vibe becomes clear, with stunning plants and trees in every corner.
Thanks to generous ceiling height at Botanist Ipswich, along with a vast array of plants into various ceramic pots and containers, we were able to install some magnificent replica Phoenix Palms with the tallest standing 4.2m tall!
Along with replica Banana Trees and Ficus Trees standing over 3m tall too.
Even the light fittings were adorned with foliage; a mixture of replica Ferns, trailing Ivy and Palms.
A metal framework with aged terracotta pots attached, planted with artificial Pilea, Pothos, Dracaena and many others looked fab.
With so much beauty all around it’s difficult to single out just one element, however, this custom made tree we built on site has to be a strong contender.
Using a graphite grey square container, the tree was constructed in our signature way, using Ghostwood and Manzanita wood to form trunk and branches reaching to and spreading across the ceiling.
The branches were then profusely dressed with artificial Longifolia foliage before the final embellishment of soft lantern lights.
Combined altogether to dazzling effect.
