HYVERT MODULES & BLADES

The modules equate to 96 plants per sqm (approx.) and each module can hold 12 plants which are divided by 'Blades’. The patent pending design of both the module and blade hold the UK Design Council certificate which is what makes HYVERT superior to other products on the market.

Each module has been moulded specifically to hold 5 honeycomb blades. The honeycomb structure of the blades is incredibly strong. It reduces the issue of root spiralling and secures roots in the vertical position.

Water moves easily throughout the modules and blades to avoid stagnation, but retains the correct levels of moisture to ensure maximum plant health and optimum growing conditions.

Blades can be removed individually to carry out ad-hoc maintenance and replanting without the need to remove the whole module.

This sustains the health of the wall and results in a stunning, living, vertical oasis, that requires minimum attention.

In line with our commitment to reduce our negative impact on the environment, both modules and blades are manufactured from recycled batteries.

SMART IRRIGATION & WI-FI ENABLED

We stay connected to every living wall we install via our dedicated HYVERT application.

Sensors on each wall regularly relay data back to us concerning the wall’s :

- Water consumption - conserving excessive water usage

- Power outage - our technicians will be notified immediately if there is a mains power cut or the water source has disappeared

- Liquid feeding - this can also be carried out remotely, via the built-in HYVERT water-flow system

We grow and install smarter, greener walls.

NB. It's important for us to add that besides this remote 'app' monitoring, each installed HYVERT living wall will also be subject to thorough after-care maintenance site visits carried out by our experienced Plant Technicians in person. They will check the wall's overall appearance, new plant growth development and that the sensors are correctly calibrating to ensure accurate readings.

The 24/7 remote-care is simply an extra pair of eyes for us and will never be a substitute for in-person inspections.

CARBON & NITROGEN DIOXIDE REDUCING SYSTEM

In the face of climate change and 'NetZero' targets, reducing air pollution is vital. HYVERT living walls not only clean the air, they also reduce heat absorption during Summer months and prevent heat loss during Winter months.

These glorious green living masses of planting reduce the carbon footprint of sites exponentially and we are currently in the midst of a three year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Manchester Metropolitan University(MMU) to quantify exactly what and how much HYVERT can achieve in filtering out contaminants and sequestering carbon.

HYVERT remains under the scrutiny of MMU Scientists in 'controlled environment' laboratory conditions as we continue our research, examining the impact Green Infrastructure can have on both urban areas and their occupants.

Ecological and Biodiversity Key Sustainability Measures

In August 2022, we reached a significant milestone in HYVERT's evolution; the identification of eight key sustainability measures

By analysing HYVERT in these controlled, laboratory conditions, it has enabled us to accrue accurate measurability and collection of data in a quantitative, repeatable and traceable way.

And under-pinned by multi-disciplinary research and predictive modelling, we have now produced an initial datum line for each sustainability measure.

This means we have the ability to deliver a quantifiable and tailored, nature based solution which is unique to each business we work with.

You can learn more about each Key Sustainability Measure identified in the Benefits section.

HYVERT the 'Living Lab'

November 2023 and our Research Partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University entered a new phase; KTP 2

The purpose of KTP2 will be to research and utilise advanced environmental data analytics and applied artificial intelligence to produce bespoke reporting dashboards on the accrued and future sustainability impact following every HYVERT installation.

Data collected will include carbon capture, air/water pollution reduction, rainwater re-utilisation, noise/heat attenuation and biodiversity net gain.

By linking HYVERT with building management systems, the partnership with MMU aims to achieve additional capability to quantify, evidence, and predictively report on the environmental benefits accumulated by living green infrastructure with the end goal of accelerating interest and uptake, in turn helping the UK transition faster to a net zero future.

The HYVERT living wall we installed at MMU's All Saints Campus is literally a 'living lab' and now hosts numerous environmental/scientific research experiments.
