We are experts in our field and pioneers in Biophilic design. Biophilia in simple terms is the connection with nature that makes us feel balanced, calm and well. Plants improve air quality, reduce air pollutants, and absorb noise as well as being pleasing to the eye.
Biophilia is about emulating The Great Outdoors indoors and is a powerful way to affect human health, psychological wellbeing and workplace productivity. So integrating plants into the design process is a key and functional way to improve our health.
WE TAKE THE POWER OF PLANTS SERIOUSLY
Our knowledge of plants has been gleaned over 47 years, and our commitment to leading the way in plant technology has never been more focussed. We know plants are the solution to many of the problems we face in urban environments.
In partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, we’re also proudly funding a groundbreaking research project to scientifically quantify the power of our HYVERT living walls.
Our HYVERT system will be assessed through a series of calibrated measurements for the amount of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide and particulate matter that is removed from the atmosphere. A first for the industry and another way for us to support our clients in achieving sustainable building designs.
WHY WE LOVE PLANTS
It’s in our DNA. We are very proud to be a family business, planting and watering for over four decades.
Keith and Vivienne Rowlands founded Interior Plantscapes back in 1974 and we have been greening up the UK ever since.
Richard Rowlands (their son) and our current Managing Director can’t remember a time when he wasn’t wielding a watering can as a young boy; the passion and knowledge for all things horticultural is in his blood.
Under Richard’s guardianship and creative vision, the company has been rebranded: I WANT PLANTS was created in 2008, and our own patented HYVERT living wall system was launched in 2020.
